Import From a Template or a Previous Semester's Site

  1. Click on the course that contains that empty course shell where you want to import previous course content.
  2. Scroll down to the Administration block and click on the Import option.
  3. A list of available courses will display.
  4. If you don’t see the course you would like to import, you can narrow down the list by entering in some values in the search field and then clicking on the Search button.
  5. Click on the course you would like to import and then click on the Continue button.
  6. In the initial setting screen, select the backup settings you would like to include in your course and click the Next button.
    • If you want to include everything from the previous course, click the Next button to step through all the screens or click on Jump to final step button which will take you to step 9

  7. In the schema setting screen, click on the options you would like to include in your course, scroll down and the click on the Next button. The Schema screen shows a long list of all of the activities/resources you are about to import. You can deselect any of them by unchecking the box next to it if you do not wish to import that resource.
    • If you want to include everything from the previous course, click the Next button.

  8. The confirmation and review screen, shows you everything you are about to import. Review all the options you have selected and the scroll down and click on the Perform Import button.
  9. The Perform import will show you the progress as it imports the course. This process may take a few minutes depending on how much is being imported.
  10. Once you receive the Import is complete message, click on the Continue button.
  11. All of the content you just imported should now appear.
