Add an Assignment

Note: A resource is an item that the faulty member can use to support learning. An activity is something the student will do that interacts with other students or the faculty member.

  1. Login into your Moodle.
  2. Click on the course name to go into your Moodle course.
  3. Click the Turn editing on button in the top right corner.
  4. In the week/topic you wish to add as resource, click on Add a resource or activity link.
  5. Scroll down the list and select the assignment activity you wish to add and then click the Add button.
  6. Fill in required fields. Required fields will have a red asterisk.
    Note: As an instructor, you can customize your assignment by selecting any number of fields available when creating an assignment. Listed below are a sample of a few recommend sections.
  7. If you want a range of dates on when this assignment can be submitted update the Availability section.
  8. If you would like to specify the type and number of submissions update the Submission types section.
  9. If you would like to be able to provide feedback for the assignments, update the Feedback types section.
  10. If you would like to specify how the student submits their assignment, updated the Submission settings section.
  11. If you want to determine the number of points for your assignment or attach a rubric to this assignment, update the Grade section. Note: To attach a rubric, click on the Grading method and select the rubric option.
  12. If you want to specify how an assignment is considered complete, update the Activity completion section.
  13. Click the Save and return to course (or Save and display) button at the bottom of the page.
